Except living together and sharing a bunch, a life in a village makes you and the others around close in many ways. One of them is knowing a huge part from their "secret" projects - you know, those small things a person makes just for him/herself.
That is why I know that my neighbor, a sweet woman in her forties, makes all kinds of great staff sewing - cases for phones and tables. book "dresses", sacks and a lot others. She has her own online business and sells hers stall using the Internet.
I was stunned from this woman's capability of adapting. She has all of her life been good with the needles, but nowadays this is not something you can make living from, especially in a small village. So she turned to the Internet. She saw this new opportunity in somethings that scares many people and learned how to use it to make her life easier. Furthermore, she discoverer how to fulfill the needs of the public in a way that made her famous enough (because in our digital world in order to be wanted and profitable you need to be heard in the net)
The adaptivity of my fellow villagers, who make their way through the modern world with small, but sure steps makes me smile widely. It is not easy to have our simple everyday life, connected to the nature and its cycle and still find a way to be part of the world's crazy new tempo. And adapting your old ways to this completely new vision, is something difficult and creative and I admire them for that.
I, for myself, would like someday to be able to say that I would be ready to change my point view so that I can survive and blossom the way these brave people do.
